Yves Greystone is a 28-year old bastard of House Dzemael who, after demonstrating the same affinity for black magicks that saw his mother banished from society, left Ishgard for Ul'dah so as to avoid any accusations of heretical witchcraft. It's there that he joined the Thaumaturge's Guild and began working at antique shop Thal's Lockbox, where he was able to throw himself into the study (and collection) of magical artifacts, hexes, and curses. During the events of ARR he struck up a relationship with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn after being called on by one Urianger Augurelt to examine a piece of twisted bone associated with the primal Titan, which inexorably drew him into the orbit of the WoL and the fate of their Star.
